SCRIPTURE

Isaiah 44:3

“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground…”

 DEVOTIONAL

God is not looking for strength, He responds to thirst.

Isaiah reminds us that the promise of outpouring is not reserved for the capable or the polished, but for the dry and desperate. Where there is hunger, God pours. Where there is surrender, God moves.

As we continue in Phase 3: Drinking → Overflow, today invites us to stop striving and to posture ourselves honestly before God. We are the thirsty land. We are the dry ground. And that is exactly where God promises to move.

Outpouring always begins with humility with recognizing our need and asking God to fill us again, until overflow becomes inevitable.

PRAYER

“For I will pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground.”

Father, we confess today that we are the dry ground.

We confess that we are the thirsty land. We are weary. We are at the end of ourselves.

We cannot fight in our own strength or strive in our own ability.

Lord, we need a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit today.

Mark our hearts for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Fill us until we overflow. Refresh us until everything is made new.

Jesus, we ask You to pour out Your Spirit afresh on every pastor, every leader, every young person, and every church across the Bay Area.

In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Ask yourself:

• Where have I been striving instead of surrendering?

• Where do I need a fresh outpouring of the Spirit?

• What would it look like to live from overflow?

Come thirsty.

God pours where thirst remains.
