SCRIPTURE

Isaiah 58:10–11

“And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

 DEVOTIONAL

Overflow always turns outward.

God’s promise in Isaiah is clear: when we allow His Living Water to fill us, it doesn’t stop with personal renewal. It transforms us into people who refresh others, a well-watered garden in a dry and weary land.

When we pour ourselves out in love, compassion, and obedience, God continues to supply what we need. He guides us, strengthens us, and satisfies us even in scorched places. The result is a life that bears fruit and becomes a source of hope for those around us.

This is the fruit of overflow, a church that gives life to the city it’s planted in.

PRAYER

by Sarah | Pastor of Rise City Church + Pray The Bay Director

“Lord, make us like a well-watered garden that gives life to those around us and becomes a lifeline to our city.

Let us overflow with the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Let the church across the Bay overflow with Your presence.

Thank You that You don’t just fill us —

You overflow through us.

We invite You to move through our lives and make us life-givers in the heart of the Bay.

In Jesus’ name, amen.”

REFLECTION + INVITATION

Pause and reflect:

  • Who has God placed around me to refresh?

  • Where is He inviting me to pour myself out?

  • What might overflow look like in my everyday life?

Be the garden. Let the water flow.
