SCRIPTURE
John 4:13–14
“Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’”
DEVOTIONAL
Every other source runs out.
In John 4, Jesus speaks to a woman who has been drawing water again and again, returning daily to a well that can only temporarily satisfy. Jesus offers her something radically different: Living Water that does not run dry.
This is the culmination of the dryness we’ve been naming all week. Not just awareness, repentance, or longing, but invitation. Jesus makes it clear: whatever we drink from apart from Him will always leave us thirsty again. Only He satisfies fully.
Today, we are invited to stop searching and start receiving. To come to Jesus personally. To drink deeply. And to trust that what He gives doesn’t just sustain us, it becomes a spring within us, overflowing into eternal life.
PRAYER
by Liva, Pray The Bay Missionary
“Jesus, You are the only One who can satisfy our souls.
We receive the gift of Living Water from You.
We believe it, and we receive it.
We trust that what You give becomes a spring within us, welling up to eternal life.
Thank You for choosing us and inviting us to drink.
Let it fill us. Let it fill every hole in us. Let it fill all the emptiness in us.
Thank You, Jesus. We receive it.
In Jesus’ name, amen.”
REFLECTION + INVITATION
Today, receive… don’t strive.
Ask Him:
What have I been drinking from that still leaves me thirsty?
What would it look like to fully receive You as my source?
Where do I need Your Living Water to fill empty places?
There is only one source that satisfies.
Jesus is the Living Water.
Come and drink.
