SCRIPTURE
Isaiah 35:6
“Then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert… “
DEVOTIONAL
Desperation meets promise here.
Isaiah speaks to a people familiar with barrenness, wilderness, exile, waiting. And yet, God declares something impossible: water breaking forth where it should not exist. Streams flowing through deserts. Life erupting in places marked by lack.
This is not symbolic hope, it is resurrection language. God does not avoid the desert. He transforms it. What feels dry, delayed, or beyond repair is exactly where He releases renewal.
As we continue in this phase of desperation, today reminds us that thirst does not disqualify us, it positions us. God’s Living Water flows into places we’ve written off, and His Spirit brings healing, restoration, and joy where silence and dryness once lived.
PRAYER
by Mark | Pastor at Experience Church + Co-Founder of Pray The Bay
“This is the Word of the Lord, thanks be to God. It is true and can be trusted.
Jesus, we thank You for praying for Your Church across the Bay.
We ask that You would pour out Your Holy Spirit upon every disciple, pastor, shepherd, believer, and church in this region.
Through us, reach the broken, the hurting, the dry, and the desperate.
Release miracles, signs, wonders, gifts of the Holy Spirit, and salvation across the Bay.
Lord, do what only You can do.
Only You have Living Water that flows from Your throne.
Fill us. Renew us.
Make us thirsty for more of You in a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit.
In Jesus’ name, amen.”
REFLECTION + INVITATION
Today, bring your desert places to God.
Ask Him:
Where have I believed renewal is impossible?
What areas of my life feel dry, delayed, or barren?
How might God want to bring streams here?
God does not fear the desert.
He sends streams into it.
Expect renewal.
